Kitchen and Event Assistant

 

Part Time (3 days a week)

 

Description:

Oh My Lard is a family-run food company in Winlaw BC. We cater events including festivals, street pop-ups, and weddings. We also run a retail business supplying local grocery stores with fresh packaged BBQ for their shelves.  

We are looking for an enthusiastic kitchen and event assistant to join our team. This position is part time to begin, with the potential for a full time position as we grow. The ideal candidate will have solid base knowledge of the food service industry, previous experience in a commercial kitchen and a customer-facing role, ability to adapt quickly to change and problem-solve, and a passion for all things delicious. 

 

Responsibilities:

• Assist chef and team with food preparation and storage

• Maintain an organized and clean workspace

• Assist in scheduling and planning of retail order filling and labeling

• Travel to local events to serve food and assist with on-site cooking

• Assist with inventory management and supply orders 

• Manage cash and credit/debit sales when necessary 

• Wash dishes and organize dry storage 

 

Requirements:

• Must have food safe certification or equivalent

• Must have a car or access to transportation in Winlaw

• Must be available for weekends and extra hours if needed

• Previous kitchen and/or service experience preferred
